Hey

this is Merg the little monster Hunter, a fantasy creation of my own devising. More of a fun fantasy character than having much basis in reality.
I've been working on this for quite some time. I started from a Mudbox sculpt for the hipoly version and later created a low/mid rendermesh.
I work as a game artist and I created this character with game engine specs in mind and an emphasis on simple shaders. I used 2 1024 texture samples, 1 for the body and one for the equipment. I created Diffuse, Specular, normal maps and some opacity and glow were appropriate.
I originally had the intention of making some props for him and also making a small monster to be contained in his tank, but simply ran out of time.
I'm currently looking to utilise Shader FX from http://www.lumonix.net/index.html to create a realtime shader for him, so I can add fresnel and other effects that I would use in a realtime engine (like the Unreal 3 engine).
